Pencils of Promise was founded in October 2008 by Adam Braun with the hope of building just one school. It is a non-profit organization that builds schools and increases educational opportunities in the developing world.
250 million children of primary school age lack basic reading, writing, and maths skills. To date, Pencils of Promise have built 531 schools, supported 2,151 teachers and impacted 110,380 students in the poorest regions of the world.
